​My name’s Ava; a born and bred Adelaidean with a sincere love and respect for all animals. My love for animals began with cats when I was younger, after nagging dad for one and being blessed with a stunning Burmese cat named "Crumpet" - bless. This love then extended on to dogs; both good bois and sweet gorls of all shapes and sizes, later on down the track in my mid 20s.

During my work at my local shopping centre beginning 2020, I quickly developed a great interest in animal welfare and felt that this is something that I wanted to dedicate my service towards, and so I completed my Certificate 3 in Animal Care services via Applied Vocational Training. Through this, I’ve developed great respect regarding proper workplace practices, particularly those relating to workplace hygiene and organisational processes; all of which result in an excellent customer experience.

With a love for detail oriented, physical work and creating, I was drawn to dog grooming and volunteered at local groomers to 'get the feel' for the job. Having found my sense of patience and natural ability in handing animals and grooming tools, I completed 4 weeks of intensive training at Dog Diversity in Melbourne in May of 2023; a leading, private dog grooming education provider in Australia that have been established for 20 years. With their gentle and safe approach to dog grooming and handling, I successfully groomed 33 dogs and can competently complete sanitary maintenance, clips with finishing blades and combs, teddy faces and now work to learn breed specific grooms.

Ava's long-term goal is to establish a combined grooming and retail location in Adelaide that focuses on personalised, high integrity service and one that also spotlights local, small animal related businesses - be it dog food and treats, handmade accessories or other services. In the interim, she offers House-Call Dog grooming services, dog walking and house sitting Full Time.
